AIGA SF Fall Gala Hung Up

AIGA San Francisco Presents our 2009 Fall Gala HUNG UP Join us for night of decks, dogs, drinks & design November 12, 2009 6:30–9:30pm @ The Galleria | San Francisco Design Center

For many artists and designers, skating and skate culture has played a major role in their lives. Either directly influenced by skateboarding itself or indirectly influenced by the music and art of skateboarding over the decades, it continues to make an impact.

AIGA San Francisco is celebrating the powerful influence of skate culture through the art of skateboards. We have invited artists, designers and skaters to contribute custom designed skate decks to be auctioned off in a silent auction on November 12 at Hung Up, a night of decks, dogs, drinks and design.

In addition to the silent auction, there will be a raffle of items ranging from posters, restaurant vouchers and magazine subscriptions, to a copy of Adobe CS4. The evening will also feature live art, music, food and more.

People’s Choice
To help build the excitement, we’re giving AIGA members the opportunity to design and submit a deck for the People’s Choice competition, with voting open to all. The People’s Choice Winner will have his or her design printed on two decks: one given to the designer/artist and the other included in the auction at the event. Deadline to submit entries is October 31, 2009, so get on it! Learn more about how you can submit a design.
